Everyone knows that one person who comes across as, well, a bit weird. They just do not care what other people think of them.
In a way, that is admirable. If you spend way too much time worrying about what others think, you’ll never be your true self. Many of the great artists, writers, and musicians throughout history were a bit quirky—to say the least. Geniuses usually are.
There is nothing wrong with being strange as long as you are not hurting anyone. Here are fifteen examples of people who are living their lives in strange and interesting ways.
1. The Nails That Look Like Cigarettes
It is hard to figure out why anyone would do this. A lot of people like cigarettes, I know, but they’re not exactly pretty. They don’t look like a flower or a rainbow.
Don’t get me wrong. The nails are certainly done well; I just don’t understand the subject matter.
I think it is pretty safe to assume that the person with these nails is either a smoker or an ex-smoker. If the nails belong to an ex-smoker, they might serve as a reminder that smoking isn’t the healthiest of habits.
There’s no need to go on about how bad cigarettes are for people. Lives, in general, are shortened by them. Fortunately, smoking rates are on the decline in many parts of the world. Sadly, as most everyone knows, they are a major cause of birth defects. Pregnant women shouldn’t smoke, obviously, but second-hand smoke is also bad for pregnant women and babies. It is pretty bad for everyone, really.
Also, cigarette butts are gross. They are actually the most common form of litter on the planet.
2. The Terrifying Hairstyle
I have seen a number of unusual hairstyles in my life. Some of them look good. Others look awful, but I would never actually say that to the person.
Things seem to be getting more extreme these days, though. This might be the most extreme hairstyle, though, that I have ever seen. You really have to admire the stylist, though—that took a lot of talent.
Having an actual eye on the back of one’s head doesn’t sound so bad. It would certainly make it more difficult for someone to mug you. This one is just decoration, though, so it seems like a curious choice. I bet the person gets a lot of attention, though, and perhaps that was the point.
3. The Pineapple Hairstyle
This is another fine example of a very unusual hairstyle. It is also another great example of someone who has a very creative, talented stylist.
I guess this person likes pineapple, which is understandable. So do I. I really like it when people make salsa out of pineapple. That’s just delicious. They are also great on hamburgers and in fruit salad.
Pineapple—which comes from South America—is also a great way to get the vitamin C you need every day.
4. The Guy and the Popsicle
This is a strange way of eating a Popsicle. I am not sure why this man thinks he has to go to the extra effort; maybe he just likes it better that way. It does kind of look ridiculous when a grown man eats a Popsicle.
A lot of people eat food in weird ways. I know several people who make it a point to cut up their pizza with a fork and a knife. I thought it was silly at first, but it is a lot less messy. A lot of people also cut up their hamburgers, which I find bizarre. What is the point of eating a sandwich if you are going to cut if up?
Believe it or not, the Popsicle brand has been around since 1905. The ice pop with which so many of us are familiar was actually invented by an 11-year-old kid in California.
5. The Hot Wings and the Cheetos
I have never thought about flavoring my hot wings in such a way. It seems curious, but those wings also look delicious. It definitely isn’t the worst idea in the world. A lot of people love Cheetos, after all. I wonder if the recipe is available online. I don’t know if I would personally try it, but I am sure a lot of people would.
Cheetos, or Chee-tos as they used to be known, have been around since 1948. The brand is currently owned by Frito-Lay. Previously, the brand was owned by a couple other companies. It is the best-selling cheese puff snack in the United States. There are over 20 different varieties of Cheetos, and the product generates billions of dollars of revenue a year.
You can buy Cheetos pretty much everywhere. Arguably, they are most popular in the United States; however, you can also buy them in many other countries, including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Korea, France, Japan, Pakistan, Turkey, and Spain.
6. The Person Covered In Vegetables
Fresh vegetables aren’t exactly cheap, but they are definitely a bit cheaper than those masks they sell that are made from cucumber. This young woman is probably saving money—although probably not very much.
I am not so sure about the tomatoes, though. What are they there for? I have never heard of a tomato mask. I can’t imagine tomatoes are particularly great for the skin, but they probably couldn’t hurt. And why are they only on her chest?
You kind of have to wonder if, after her beauty treatment, she made a salad with all of those vegetables. It would be sort of a waste if she didn’t.
7. The Person Who Really Didn’t Want to Get Sick
This may seem extreme, and the person looks foolish, but it is actually a pretty good idea. This young woman will probably go an entire winter without even getting a cold. There are a lot of nasty little illnesses you can contract when the weather is cold and your immune system isn’t functioning at its best.
One of the worst diseases you can end up with during the winter months is the flu. I am not talking about the sort of flu where you are nauseous and throw up, though; I am talking about influenza, which causes hundreds of thousands of deaths each year. Symptoms in adults include a high fever, headaches, coughing, a sore throat, and exhaustion. The early stages of the flu actually feel like a cold.
If you get the flu, you should seek medical treatment under certain conditions, especially if you get confused or dizzy. High fevers are also a very bad sign.
8. The Guy With the Tie and the Booze
This is one clever guy. Sometimes in life you need alcohol at times others would consider sort of inappropriate. I would not recommend getting drunk at work, but a quick shot of whiskey is not the end of the world.
You shouldn’t make it a habit, of course. Still, if you have a really boring job, a bit of a buzz can make the time go a lot faster. Sadly, there aren’t many companies out there that allow drinking on the job. I have seen bartenders do it, but they are sort of the exception to the rule.
9. The Guy With the Backpack
When I was in high school, I had to carry around a lot of books. They were heavy books. There wasn’t a lot of time between classes to go to my locker, so I carried around more than I probably should have, which might be why I have back problems today.
I am worried about this guy’s back. That is way too much stuff to be lugging around. I just hope he doesn’t hurt himself.
10. The Hair and the Level
This guy cares about his hairstyle. He might care a little too much. Still, you have to admire the commitment.
I know a few people who cut and style hair for a living. The pay isn’t great unless you are at one of those really fancy, exclusive salons; still, they really seem to like their work. According to them, having to be on your feet all day is exhausting, but that’s the case with a lot of jobs. They do like getting to meet new people, though, and eventually develop friendships with them.
11. The Woman and the Multitasking
It is kind of irritating when you’re trying to enjoy a beverage and also use a device that requires both hands. In this situation, it would have been impossible to do so.
What was she going to do? She couldn’t exactly put her drink on the ground. There was a good chance someone would have knocked it over.
This is sort of a strange image, sure, but the woman is clearly pretty clever.
12. The Guy With the Outfit
If you have two identical shirts, I suppose it is reasonable to turn one of those shirts into a pair of shorts. I don’t have the skill to do so, but the guy in this image clearly did.
In my opinion, though, the shorts look sort of ridiculous.
However, if I find a shirt I like, I will buy several. If there is a t-shirt that looks good on you, then you should buy as many as you possibly can. T-shirts, sadly, do not last forever.
13. The Mermaid
It takes a lot of guts for a guy to dress up like a mermaid and float around in a public pool. He looks to be enjoying himself, and he’s not harming anyone, so what’s the big deal?
Naturally, when you think of mermaids, you think of “The Little Mermaid”. It was a very popular animated film that came out in 1989. The fairy tale upon which it was based was a lot darker than the relatively cheery movie. The ending wasn’t exactly a happy one. At one point, she was supposed to kill the prince. She didn’t end up marrying him like she did in the movie. Everything about that particular fairy tale was sort of sad.
14. The Backwards Helmet
I am sure this person was trying to look cool by wearing the helmet backwards. It is a unique look.
Still, helmets exist for a reason, and they should be warn properly. Experiencing a traumatic brain injury isn’t exactly a fun time. You can end up dead. You can also end up permanently disabled.
Traumatic brain injuries are one of leading causes of death, especially in regard to children and younger adults.
In the United States, the leading causes of traumatic brain injuries include violence and motor vehicle accidents.
