We all know that the corporate world is not all sunshine and rainbows. We also know that those who have been part of a large corporate structure are well aware that being part of a great team with lots of benefits and good managers is rather an exception than anything else. The corporate gifts employees often receive are testimony to that, as they can be really crappy. We decided to share this list because it is full of some of the worst corporate gifts possible. The list is something that many people would surely relate to, and some may even recognize some of the gifts listed. Christmas was a month ago, but most of you surely remember what they received.
1. The socks
Here is the picture of the gift a skilled corporate salesman received, and it was obvious that the person was not impressed with it. Sure enough, a pair of special socks designed to keep feet warm during the cold season are nice to have, but a promotion or an additional paycheck would have been better.
2. The bonus
Most people expect to have large bonuses for the holiday season, and some actually do get decent money from their companies. Still, others are more or less disappointed by what they get. It seems that this person is unhappy with their gift for a good reason. You can see that this is a joke.
3. The key
Talking about gifts that look like a joke, taking one look at this one would be enough to realize that it can’t get any worse than this. The managers of this company probably wanted to make their employees feel important to the corporate structure, but a bonus would have sent a better message.
4. The announcement
It is true that some company managers need to know better than to allow such things to happen. Expressing gratitude to your employees is always a good idea, but it is the effort that counts, and all related actions need to be scaled accordingly. As you can see here, two tea bags is nothing but an insult to employees.
5. The apples
We know just how it feels to miss the holiday bonus, and there is no telling just how many people received nothing a month ago. Still, some of the people who got something from their managers and bosses probably wish they got nothing instead. These apples are surely not enough to make employees feel good around the holidays.
6. The gifts
Well, we believe that people out there would react positively to this picture, as it is a far better gift compared to the ones already listed. The trouble is that the gift is nothing compared to the bonus this person’s CEO received – a whopping $58,000, and that is what we call a hefty bonus. This person was right to not be happy with this set.
7. The gift card
Well, some bosses haven’t got the slightest clue about how to give their employees the gratitude they deserve. As you can see, this person had the audacity to give his workers coupons, and while that might not be enough, it was still something. Later, they found out it was actually taken from their paychecks, and this is absurd.
8. The biscuit
We all love gingerbread biscuits, or at least most of us. But even if you do not like the taste, you will easily relate the smell of gingerbread to the holiday season mood. In this case, however, things were not planned as they should have, because a single cookie is surely not enough to substitute a true gift. This is nothing but a joke.
9. The check
Of course, this is not a true check, but a Butterball coupon, and you can see the amount of money written there, too. These massive $15 are an insult to any employee, and we have yet to believe that some people actually decided to give their employees such bonuses. Every worker deserves a bonus and recognition for their efforts.
10. The items
Well, as far as Christmas presents and bonuses go, this is one of the worst for sure, and we guess that those who received this set were both flabbergasted and amused by it. Imagine how excited these people must have been about the upcoming bonus, and their surprise when they saw that this was the bonus.
11. The snacks
Some workers probably never expect to receive a huge gift, but they are still hoping for the best. As you can see, this is one of the worst corporate gifts ever, and we believe that instead of giving such things to their workers, managers need to either give them nothing or simply explain that the company does not have resources for proper gifts.
12. The ticket
These scratchcard tickets are seemingly becoming less and less of a favorite, but people still buy them in hopes of winning a prize. Still, we never rely on them when we need money. This is not the case here. One person and their colleagues received one of these each, and the management probably hoped some of them would win a prize.
13. The chapstick
Now, this is one curious idea, and by curious we mean weird. It seems that some companies believe they would get away with something cheap as this as a substitute for a true corporate gift. As bad as this gift is, we also need to state that no employee would ever forget receiving such a thing for Christmas.
14. The soup
This is surely one of the weirdest items on the list. First of all, we have never seen someone refer to marshmallows and hot cocoa as a snowman soup, and while that might be funny, the fact that this is a Christmas gift is not funny at all. We guess that none of the employees who received this were happy to have it instead of a real bonus.
15. The kit
Most people would think that this was a teaser for the real gift or some kind of a way for the employees to have some fun before getting their actual bonus, but this was all. No checks and coupons, no nothing. While we agree with the idea, we need to admit that this kit is the last thing someone should give as a corporate bonus.
16. The stress relief
We don’t know what this person’s company is, or what does he do there in particular, but we know one thing for certain – nobody should receive this as a gift, no matter the occasion. As you can see, they gave the employees bubble wrap to pop whenever they feel they need to let out some steam.
