Every now and then, we get to see something new and exciting. It might be an object or a new location, or some interesting person we find fascinating. Those who are keen on browsing the internet all day long have the right to say they have seen it all but they would be wrong. The world is too big for one to say nothing could surprise them. There are moments when we see something and we have a hard time explaining what it might be. The list below is exactly about this kind of thing. It shows objects that people shared online but could not describe or name. This is when people online joined in and shed some light on the matter. It is kind of fun to see new things and learn all about them, don’t you think?
1. The detectorÂ
Some things appear to be ordinary at first glance, but once you look at them a second time, you realize they were not what you thought they were. In this case, someone believed this was a smoke detector but you can see it is plugged into a power outlet, meaning it is something else – a device used to chase mosquitoes and other critters away.
2. The tower
This is one weird power line tower, and it is a lot bigger than any pole we’ve seen supporting cables. As you can see, it is obvious that this contraption must have a special purpose. The mystery was solved thanks to people online who pointed out this is a special pylon acting as a junction for different power line routes.
3. The malletÂ
If you have watched Courage the Cowardly Dog show, you remember that Eustace often wanted his mallet to be handed over to him and the device shown here looks almost exactly like it. As it turned out, this was not a mallet, but a Chinese fiddle, which is awesome.
4. The station
Here we have a rather interesting piece of tech that looks a lot like a ticket portal or an old ATM. Still, you can see it must have had a specific purpose back in the days when it was extensively used. It turned out to be a ticked or card scanner machine used at arcades.
5. The device
Now, this is something that would puzzle you if you happened to find it once you move to a new place. Someone noticed a box on the wall and found this thin inside. It looks weird, but it is merely a shower mixing valve that appears to be out of order, too.
6. The key
Keys are one of the most common items you could think of. Everyone has at least a handful of keys they use regularly for their home, vehicle, locker room, storage, or even mailbox. In this case, a person found a weird key and had no idea of its purpose. It turned out to be a Masonic key, meaning it is truly special.
7. The machineÂ
Someone took this weird image of a truck hauling something that looks like it came from outer space. The person was right to think it was something you can’t easily explain. After asking about it on Reddit, the answer was revealed: it was a Sulfur Hexafluoride circuit breaker.
8. The growth
You would probably be freaked out to find something like this in the middle of your lawn. There is no telling how this person must have felt before taking the picture. Later, the people on Reddit were able to answer the riddle with this growth. It was a bundle of decaying mushrooms.
9. The specs
Someone added a squirt of lemon to their water and almost immediately noticed something was wrong. There were brown specs at the bottom of the bottle that surely came from the lemon. As it was later revealed, the lemon was not ripe and these were underdeveloped seeds that fell down with the juice.
10. The device
Some of the items you see may look kind of freaky or even spooky, but they have a completely different purpose than the one they seemed to have. In this case, one ordinary item looks quite intimidating. Still, this is nothing but a champagne tap.
11. The rusty piece
Talking about intimidating items and objects, taking a look at this one is enough to judge it is not something you need to fool with at all. But it was not a sinister thing at all. This is a very old device that played the role of a minesweeper, and it is awesome to see one preserved.
12. The object
Now, this is one tiny little thing that is nothing but gorgeous. These colors and the texture make it something unique, but we had no clue what it was, just like the person who asked about it on Reddit. As it turned out, this was a 2017 Power Rangers coin!
13. The tool
It was obvious that this was some kind of tool, but nobody could tell more until Reddit users described what it was. It appears to be a clamp, but it has a simpler application. It is a fly tying device often used by fishermen everywhere.
14. The wooden device
Here is something that could puzzle anyone. It looks like a smart device used for a specific purpose, and it is exactly that. It seems that people could think it does a tricky job, but it does not. We were surprised to see this was merely a business cardholder.
15. The organismÂ
Now, this is surely something you will not want to find while strolling on the beach. This looked like a hardened jelly blob, but it was actually something not that special. People on Redditt agreed it was a moon snail egg sack.
16. The bulb
Here is one bulb that you don’t see every day. Even better, it has a special purpose, meaning that you cannot find it at any home or institution. It is curious to see a slide projector bulb, and a very old one, too. It was probably used a long time ago.
17. The bathroom equipment
We guess that when people find something they have never seen before, they get overexcited and do not stop until they find the explanation or description they need. In this case, someone was pleased to find out this was a foot-washing station. This is the first time we see such a thing, too.
