Tattoos are one of the best ways for a person to underline and state their individuality and to make an impression. We have seen thousands of tats that range from weird to impressive. We also understand that there are no certain rules when it comes to having a tattoo. It all comes down to the preferences of a person, the reasons behind their decision to have a tattoo, and the meaning it is supposed to have. Of course, some tattoos fail to represent the idea they were supposed to, and this is mostly due to poor execution. Some tattoo artists are simply not skilled enough to craft the tattoos people paid them for, and the list below shows such results.

It seems that some tattoos are too precious not for the meaning they have, but for the stories behind them. Now, this is the kind of thing that could immediately make you think that it was a joke. We can all see the initial ideas and the images that have an obvious theme. Still, the end result is far from the samples we see above, and we probably would have requested for a completely new tattoo done over either of these two failed attempts.

There are no words to describe this piece. We get that it was probably supposed to be a graphic interpretation of a portrait, but it was not supposed to be this bad, either. We think that whoever had this done had to trust a more skilled professional.

Most people out there who are attracted by the idea of having a tattoo they could show off to people must be careful when they step into action, and you can see why that matters in the picture above. This person wanted to boast a famous quote placed on his forearm, but the bad spelling ruined the effect and created something people will laugh at.

James Hetfield is the kind of person that needs no introduction whatsoever, as the world-famous musician is one of the people who founded Metallica more than 40 years ago. There is no wonder that many fans out there want to have a tattoo featuring him, but the one you see here is far from the initial idea.
8. The portrait
If you want to make a really impressive statement using a tattoo, then you need to have a back tattoo done. It seems that some individuals do not care about the style of the tattoo or its quality, but about its size. The bigger it is, the better it would be for you, but not if it looks like this.
9. The inspiration
When you decided to get a tat done, you need proper inspiration. It could be one of the best experiences you had, a person you admire or you care about, or something entirely different. You could also opt for some tattoo you saw online, but you need to make sure you tweak the project to suit your preferences first.
10. The baby
There is no telling how many people have had the urge to have tattoos featuring their babies. This is only natural, as a proud parent would love to cherish the image of their baby forever, and adding it as a tattoo is a nice idea. It seems that this person wanted to do the same, but the end result is kind of controversial.

Some tats are different than others, and having a unique theme is a great idea if you want to stand out from the crowd. Of course, a good idea is not enough. You need to have a good design created first, and you need to make sure it would do the job. As you can see, the idea of having a galaxy tattooed ended up in a mess in this case.

Marilyn Monroe is surely one of the people who hardly need an introduction. The celebrity has one of the most memorable appearances any person could have, and her image is very recognizable all over the world. Still, most people would struggle to recognize her in the weird tattoo shown above.

People have the weirdest preferences when it comes to tattoos sometimes, and we perfectly understand that. As you can see, there is something that seems to be wrong about this composition, but since the tattoo studio that posted it seems to be proud of the work they did, we assume that this is exactly what the client wanted as an end result.

Now, this is the kind of thing that would upset everyone who thinks that good grammar matters the most. They say that details matter just as much, so we admire the fact that the tattoo artist decided to tweak the original idea a little bit, but his additions interfered with the lettering, allowing for mistakes.

We are quite certain that the best concept to choose when it comes to tattoos is the one that could be turned into reality, as the final result would be the thing that matters the most. We can all see that the design of the concept was not bad at all, while the final piece turned out to be way too weird.

Wow, this is what would really make most people think about the reasons why it went so wrong. As you can see, this tiger’s vivid color could not distract us from the expression of the animal. Instead of looking fierce, the tiger seems to be sad and confused, which is probably not the thing the client wanted initially.

We know that having an awesome idea is the thing that would make all the difference when it comes to having the best tattoo out there. Still, we guess that the best ideas out there can be ruined by the lack of skills of the tattoo artist hired to get the job done. This is a perfect example of what we mean.
18. The composition
We know that some tattoos require a lot of imagination to be understood, but this is not the case here. We can all see that the composition shown here is nothing but apocalyptic, and this is not what is wrong with it. The quality of the execution is what ruined the whole thing.
