1. The ethnic restaurant
If it is a ethnic restaurant and there are no people of that nationality eating there it means that the food is not good and you should definitely consider it as a red flag.
2. If you see Gordon Ramsey
If you see Gordon Ramsay yelling at the staff, this is definitely a bad sign!
3. Being the only customer
If you are the only customer at a restaurant remember that there is nobody in the restaurant for a reason.
4. Roach on the floor
If you see a roach on the floor, this is definitely a red flag that you should consider.
5. Huge menu
If there is a huge menu you should keep in mind that most likely the food is pre-precooked.
6. Dirty tables
In some countries having a dirty tables in a restaurant means that they do have a lot of work and they are busy, but in most cases the restaurant will be short staffed. If this is the case you will most likely have a bad experience eating there.
7. When the waiter doesn’t serve you for a long time
If the waiter see you and don’t come to give you a menu or say Hi, this is definitely a bad sign.

9. When waiter isn’t at your table within 5mins max
If your waiter/waitress is not at your table within 5 minutes max that means you will most likely not have a good experience.
10. Dirty bathrooms
If the restaurant’s bathrooms are dirty that means that the whole place is dirty and you will definitely not want to eat there.
11. The safety scores
If they have such signs on the door you will most likely want to skip eating there.
12. When you have a kid
You should really pay attention where they seat you if you have a kid. If they seat you on a place suitable for kids that means that the staff is thinking about you and you will have a good experience, if you they don’t well.. you should reconsider eating there.
13. Someone puking
If you see someone puking that means that the beverages or the food there are not good.
14. Cook wanted
If you see a cook wanted that means that the food will most likely not be delicious.
If the restaurant is understaffed this is definitely a bad sign.
16. Bad bathroom
As we have mentioned before if the bathroom is bad you can expect a bad experience.
17. Modern, but cheap look
If the restaurant has modern, but cheap look this is also a red flag you should consider.
18. Huge menu
If the restaurant you are visiting has a huge menu it means the owners don’t really care about the quality or most likely their food are pre-prepared which may give you bad experience.
There are also a bunch of other red flags you should consider and keep in mind that there are always exceptions. One time I went to a restaurant that I didn’t really know, it was early in the morning and nobody was there, but I swear it was delicious and the prices were really affordable. The whole staff did their best to give me the best experience I could possibly get. I went home pretty happy and am still thinking about that meal when I am really hungry.
