Living in America is different compared to most countries in the world in more ways than one. The school system is one of the things that can be considered different. There are numerous facts and features about a typical school in America that foreigners consider to be unusual, curious, or even weird. The list below suggests such examples.
1. The teams
Well, this is something that could really puzzle someone from Europe, for example. Many schools across the U.S. have such teams.
2. The balls
This is a good question but it does not need a straight answer. The best way to reply would be “why not?” – after all, balls and dances bring people closer together.
3. The vending machines
Americans would be puzzled that foreigners are puzzled about this. Sure enough, not student would be comfortable in a school with no vending machines.
4. The rivals
Here is yet another difference that is worth mentioning. Well, there are many examples of how schools develop and are successful thanks to the rivalry with other schools.

Many PE classes incorporate this exercise but not all of them. The schools with many different sports teams and cheerleaders incorporate it.

It might not be the principal talking on the microphone but these announcements are a fast and easy way to let everyone know about something important.

Well, not all premises are as described by this person but we know what he means. Yes, these blocks are an easy way to organize the schooling processes.

Of course, there surely are schools out there without a medical cabinet but this is an absolute must and it can help save someone’s life in case of an emergency.

We cannot imagine a high school not having a decent parking lot. As we all know, many students get to drive a car when they turn 16 and this is not so in Europe or Asia, for example.

This is something that we never actually realized before and the answer to this question would be hard. However, we guess that these cartons are there because milk is delicious and many kids like it.

Well, here is a question that we simply don’t know the answer to. Maybe the reasons are related to safety precautions, who knows.

One of the most American things we could think of is the yellow school bus. This is something so typical for the whole country that we consider it a part of the national culture.

We cannot believe that all the schools in the world don’t have this neat feature. Lockers are an amazing way to make students’ lives easier.

Well, this is not something that is up to us to decide and we guess that it is also a fact that everyone has accepted.

Here is yet another person who struggles to understand why college student years are not numbered but have separate specific words to be referred to.
27. The cheerleaders
Here is one of the other typical American things many schools have. You cannot have any kind of major sports event without a cheerleader squad.
