A group of people who believe that the earth is flat are usually referred as “Flat Earthers”. Despite there is no scientific proof that the earth is flash there are still people out there who believe it. Most of them come around at some point and accept that the earth is not flat just like in the discussion we have gathered below. It’s pretty interesting to see why people gave up that conspiracy theory and accepted the truth. You can read the whole discussion on Reddit.
Please keep in mind that our position is not that the earth is round. We just agree that there is not evidence that it is in fact flat.
1. The spherical trigonometry
Here is a good example of mathematically proving that the earth is in fact round.
2. The GPS
This is a pure example of logic. The example in the post above was pretty obvious. When his friend thought about it he accepted that the earth is not flat.
3. The evidence
This person is stating that people who believe that the earth is flat don’t really care about evidence. They do believe that the is a huge ice wall around the curve of the earth that actually keeps the water from going over the edge.
4. Seeing is believing
Yet, here is another example of a person who believed that the earth is flat until he saw a globe. I guess that the teacher explained very well that there is actually evidence that the earth is in fact round.
5. The stars
This person realized that there is no way to observe the star patterns if the earth is flat.
6. The cats
I am not too sure if this is for real or not, but yes, it sounds reasonable. We all know that cats love to push things off the table or something else. They do it just for fun and if the earth was flat they would for sure push something off the edge by know.
7. The weather
This person explain to a UFC professional that we have summer and winter, because the earth is round. He was not too sure if he made him accept the prove, but he definitely paused and thought for a moment.
8. The experiments
This person made a wise choice and decided to google evidence on if the earth is flat or round. He quickly found some experiments that everybody can do at home which prove the earth is a sphere.
9. Australia
Believing that Australia is just a hoax by the British government is really weird. Well, since those people lived in Australia his friend accepted the truth – Australia is real and the earth is round.
10. The daughter
This person’s daughter was a flat earther until about 4th grade. The girl accepted the evidence when she saw pictures of the earth from outer space.
11. The laser test
A group of people decided to do a laser test over water. When the test proved that the earth was round everybody was super upset. After that they finally accepted that the earth is not flat.
12. Walking to the edge
Walking to the edge of the world is a good idea, but he will eventually come around.
13. The shoes
This teacher proved the guy wrong in a really good way.
14. The student
Since this guy studied math in college decided to try if he can prove mathematically that the Earth is flat. Well, he came around after he failed to do so.
15. The computer simulation
If the earth was not round the stars would definitely move different. This guy saw a computer simulation and since it was pretty different of how the stars move in reality he decided to come around and accept the the earth is round.
16. The globe
After spending some time to give a good lesson to his neighbours. After about an hour one of the kid’s father asked if we were in the outside or the inside of the globe. I really hope that it was just a brain fart or some kind of joke. Well, anyway the kids and the father all accepted that the earth is in fact round.
17. The geography homework
This guy came around when he saw all the evidence he needed that the earth is not flat.
18. Basic concepts of astronomy
This guy learned basic concepts in astronomy in preschool. That’s when he saw evidence and accepted that the earth is round.
19. The plane
When flying on a plane this guy actually saw that the world is round and accepted it.
20. The evidence
I am not too sure if this guy is being serious about it, but he believes that everything is conspiracy and a lie. He actually believes that Titanic was also going to the edge of the earth, but was too late and couldn’t make it.
21. Going to college
This girl accepted that the earth is round when she went to college. After going to college she found the whole idea behind the “flat earth theory” to be stupid.
22. The perfect example
This here is a pretty good example and actually have a good reason. People are not to be trusted, especially online.
23. The plane
Yet, there is another guy who saw and accepted that the earth is round after flying on a plane.
24. The friend
His friend explained everything to his brother who just started to believe that the earth is flat. Thanks to the explanation the brother accepted the reality and believe that the earth is round.
25. Getting to the edge of the world
This person’s father perfectly explained him that there is no way he can get to the edge of the earth, because it is not flat. He decided to take his father’s words seriously and accepted that the earth is not flat.
26. This person just gave up
Trying to convince others something obvious is sometimes not worth the effort, so this person just gave up.
27. The trip to Japan
This person gave up on his beliefs when he had to travel to Japan. He decided to make a shorter trip and accepted that the earth is not flat.
