1. If at first you don’t succeed try again.
This one doesn’t apply to doing the same mistake over and over again. If you fail with some business it doesn’t mean that you should try with the same business pattern again, because most likely you will fail. In order to try again you should change something which basically means that you will not try the same thing again and you will try completely different thing.
2. Real men don’t cry
This has nothing to do with real man. If a person cries, this is because of feelings (either happy or sad). And yes, everybody who has feelings will cry at some point.
3. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
I think everyone just takes that a little too literally. Its actual meaning is whatever hardship you experience that you recover from will leave you better off, and is meant to be taken the same as “if your going through hell keep going.” This is just my interpretation so take it as you will but I think it makes more sense then its literal meaning.
4. I before E except after C
There is a rule in the English language called “I before E except after C”. For example in words like believe, friend I is before E, but in words like ceiling, their and deceive E is before I. However, there are more exceptions to the rule, so more cases break the rule than follow it.
5. You can’t judge a book by it’s cover.
Many people think that the whole point of the cover is to judge. It matters to the way that others will perceive you. But it doesn’t actually give any indication of what you are like. I think many people completely misunderstand this saying.
6. You don’t make changes in a winning team.
In America we have equivalent saying that states “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” I actually agree with this saying.
7. Money can’t buy happiness.
A better version of this I once heard was ‘money matters only to those who don’t have it’. As in, having money helps along the path to being happy but it’s far from the only requirement.
8. College will be the best years of your life.
In that saying they mean that most universities are like High School 2.0 with more parties and fun. This only applies to people who don’t have to work and pay for their own education. Working night shifts and going to classes is quite hard for everybody.
9. God never gives people more than they can handle.
This saying is quite good if you want to cheer somebody up and give him/her moral support, but in many cases people are being more stressed than what they can handle.
10. Getting bullied will make you stronger
It may if it is just a little bit, but if a certain limit is crossed I don’t think it will do you a good favour.
11. Staying healthy.
Not everything that is natural is healthy and is meant to be taken, so I totally disagree with this one.
12. Everything happens for a reason.
Everything happens, because of our decisions, it doesn’t matter if they are good or bad. It all depend on us.

You can never know what will happen tomorrow, so I disagree with this one. It’s just that technically every single day is once in a lifetime occurrence.

Maybe with time you acceptance for something that will always be with you.
15. Past performance is not an indication of future results.
This is not really a saying. It is a legal disclaimer to cover people so that they don’t get sued when trends inevitably change.

I don’t really agree with this one, but here is a better one “Work smart, not hard”.

I can’t agree with this one either, because everybody of us cares about others opinion at least a little bit.

If you do wait for something it may never happen. I believe that good things happen to those who work hard for it.

Work is work. If you love your work you will have easy time handling it, if not just find what you love and work for it.

This one is for people who can’t admit of being wrong. I can’t really agree on this one, because there is no reasonable explanation for it.

This one is kind of correct and not correct. If you have higher goals you will at least in most cases achieve something, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will do.

I agree with the comment on this one, because if you didn’t cause the problem you can be part of the solution. That way we will all do good in this world.

Of course it will be in the last place you look, because it will really not make sense if you kept looking for it after finding it.

Well, kind of yes, but not exactly. Great minds think practical which in some situations may be alike, but not actually the same.

Ignorance is never a good solution to any problem. If you ignore a problem it will still be there and in most cases it will be getting bigger and bigger until one day you will just ave to take care of it.
27. Treat people the way you want to be treated.
Well, actually this guy is totally right. Not everyone wants to be treated the same way you do.
28. The customer is always right.
Everyone who has worked in a retail or in a restaurant have definitely heard this one. The saying means that the “customer is always right”, because they spend money on something. Unfortunately some customers take their right too far with their absurd demands and are giving hard time to the people who are there to serve them. I agree with this one, but I always keep in mind that there is a line that should not be crossed.
