We all probably recall moments from the times we were pupils. It was probably a good time for most people, as it was carefree, and we had a lot of fun going to school and hanging out with friends. Still, it was also a valuable period due to all the knowledge that we soaked from teachers and books. While growing up, some of us realized the things we learned were not exactly true. This is why many people decided to join a thread on Reddit about the things they learned in elementary school that turned out to be not true.
1. The notes

It seems that this was an odd requirement, to say the least. Why not use your notes during an exam? It was something that we could benefit from, and the learning process is always better when you have all the help you can get. This is the truth.
2. The teacher

Now, this is something that we can never qualify as knowledge or the kind of thing a teacher should tell their students. It seems that some people are willing to do anything to make their students stop talking during class, but we don’t think it is plausible.
3. The planet

This is another proof that knowledge can evolve, and something that once wasn’t a fact is one legitimate thing today.
4. The record

We used to fear these types of things, and we believe that one wrong step would forever remain as a mark in our records. Of course, this turned out to be nothing but a way to scare us and to make us behave the right way.
5. The teachers

There are no words for us to explain this post, and the one thing we could say for certain is that we could all relate to it. For some weird reason, we used to believe that cursive is something essential.
6. The bears

We used to think that bears were the kind of animal to spend half a year sleeping nonstop, but this is not true. Their hibernation simply meant that they slept almost all of the time, but not nonstop.
7. The blood

This is the kind of thing that we used to believe for seemingly no reason at all, and we cannot stress enough just how surprised we were to find out that this was not true at all, and it never was something to believe in.
8. The profession test

We guess that some adults and teachers can sometimes have fun by including things such as the one stated above in seemingly normal types of content. We guess that many students believe this was a real job.
9. The cheaters

The thing about this post is that it sounds so plausible and logical that you cannot help but believe in it. Still, life has already proven to most of us that people who cheat are sometimes the most successful of us all.
10. The pens

There are moments when people out there probably miss the times they used to write with pens. Now, pens and pencils are almost obsolete, not to mention the fact that nobody even remembers how to write in cursive.
11. The calculator

This is the kind of thing that most teachers out there have said at least once in their time, and we all know now that it was not true. We literally have calculators, cameras, and other things in our pockets.
12. The astronaut

Yes, this is one of the posts that is correct. Of course, becoming an astronaut is not easy, but it is not that way harder than the image of it they tried to present back in the day.
13. The college

Now, this is probably one of the things that we could all relate to the most, with no exceptions, and we can even remember the times we were told this. It seems that there are no guarantees of this whatsoever.
14. The baby duck

This is something that not all of you will probably remember, but we understand that people who were told this had no reason not to disagree with it when kids. There are people who probably still believe in this.
15. The short height

This is the thing that we all believe in as kids, but it seems that the fact someone had a short height might have been a normal thing, given the average height of people who lived in their country and their time.
16. The bully

This is terrible advice that some people would probably follow to this day, which is not a great idea. There are people out there who thought that teachers were right for saying this, but they weren’t.
17. The question

We were all told this thing because it was meant to encourage us to ask anything we thought would be a good idea to ask. As it turned out, it was not a good idea, as there are many stupid questions we could ask.
18. The prove

This was not true, of course. The great discoverer has proved a lot of other things, but people already knew that the Earth was round way earlier. It was a myth we believed for years
19. The parties

The second piece of advice we already covered, but the first part of this post is something that rings a bell, right? We were told this as an encouragement to be more socially active, but it was not true all the time.
20. The typing

This is not something that we could all relate to. In fact, we understand that most people would probably never recall such a lesson from back in the day, but we can agree that it does not make any sense now.
21. The senses

People sometimes think that a teacher can never go wrong. They accept their teachers as walking encyclopedias and they are not wrong sometimes, but there are moments when teachers are wrong.
22. The platypus

We guess that if a person is eager to learn new things, they should probably think about all the moments they learned and try to question the facts they have been thought. They might find out things have changed.
23. The emperor penguin

It is true that some facts might be true, but they might also be misunderstood, given the current perspective of the person who learns these facts. Here, the person thought that these penguins were the height of an adult person.
24. The appendix

Apart from the first suggestion in this post, we guess that the other two are probably facts many people are not aware of until this moment. The first one, of course, is true, and the appendix is not useless.
25. The head

Now, this is something that we learned just now, and we think this post is very curious, to say the least. We have always thought that looking up was the right thing, just like they taught us.
26. The event

We know that some people would probably think this post is not true, but we need to accept the facts as they are, and this is nothing but a post full of facts.
27. The choices

We think that there are many people who believed this and tried to accept it as a basic rule in their lives when they became adults. but they probably came to the realization it was not entirely true.
28. The humans

We guess that this is not a general rule and it never was, so we cannot believe that some people thought this was a normal thing and even a rule of some sort.
29. The happy people

No, we don’t believe that this is even remotely true. There are people who would probably have a different opinion, but we know this is not a fact to believe in when adult.
30. The atoms

We were all told this back in the day, and we had no reason to believe another thing. There are numerous scientific breakthroughs now that have proven the opposite.
31. The resource

Now, this is the kind of thing we all know now, and we were probably told this in order for us to never accept is as the only one or the most legitimate of all sources out there.
32. The art

We guess that some of the things teachers told certain individuals turned out to be irrelevant advice, and this person managed to follow their dream.
33. The ball

We guess that this is not a bad piece of advice, but doing this would likely never protect you for certain. Still, it might save you in some situations.
34. The kindness

This is not true, of course, and we all know that being nice and being kind cannot be separated in any way. If you are a nice person, you surely are a kind person, too.
35. The fingers

The things we believed as kids were very often not true, to say the least, and this one makes no difference. It appears that we were told a plethora of facts that made us stop doing something in particular. The one above is a perfect example.
