We will always remember the moments from school we still cherish for making us feel awesome, regardless of the reasons. Still, it was not all sunshine and rainbows back in the day, and schools even had the kind of twists that were not everybody’s cup of tea, to say the least. Some schools enforced the things nobody liked, and these things would be too many to list for sure. This is why we share the list below. It contains suggestions of ridiculous or unnecessary things some schools have enforced over the years. You can read the whole discussion on Reddit.

1. The snowballs

Here is how a rule that was kind of awkward was used by students in the best possible way, and we can’t blame them for doing so.

2. The bracelets

Imagine having to take off your bracelet or watch simply because someone decided such a preposterous thing could be true. Some articles are weird.

3. The toilet paper

This is worse than any rule, and we really tried to come up with a reason for that. There is no telling just how many students had struggled with this.

4. The backpacks

We are not sure if this was a thing in most schools, but the places that decided to ban backpacks probably had a very specific reason for this decision.

5. The farts

There is nothing strange about this rule, but the odd part is the fact that applying it was impossible because of the people who enforced it.

6. The tolerance

Wow, this sounds like the kind of thing that nobody would believe, and we guess that those who have been to this school would confirm.

7. The tie

We think that this would be too much to ask from students, and there is no reason for demanding such a thing, not to mention that it could be treated as a violation of one’s private life.

8. The grade school

We are not entirely sure why this school decided to enforce such a thing, but given the fact in which state it was, it seems that it was a weird rule to enforce.

9. The administrator

Now, this is the kind of thing that nobody would tolerate, and there are moments when we think about the reasons why any management would do such a thing.

10. The word

Some of the private schools out there are a bit excessive, and there are moments when one could question the things they come up with.

11. The property

Here is how inappropriate rules can be, and we think that some people need to learn how to treat their students the right way, instead of giving them detention.

12. The cards

This is surely one of the weirdest things ever. This is not a concern to have, but what is more important is that nobody could ban kids from doing this outside of school.

13. The dances

This is the kind of rule that sounds absurd, and we don’t really care what were the reasons behind this. There seem to be no such rules at any other school, and no wonder about that.

14. The kids

Some schools do not have the management they need to have, and the inadequate measures they sometimes enforce are not only weird but just plain wrong, too. As you can see, this is not an acceptable situation.

15. The thongs

This is another violation of the rights of students, at least in our opinion, and it is not something that schools should be allowed to forbid. Plus, the question raised by this post is also a curious one.

16. The reason

We tried to find the reason behind this, but we failed. As you can see, the supposed real reason for this rule does not make any sense, and we guess they had come up with something better.

17. The bathroom

We are not exactly sure how or why people who run schools come up with such nonsense. This is something that does not make any sense, and even if did, it would still be wrong.

18. The uniform

Here is something that we can imagine would be a typical scene for a drama movie about a boarding school. This is the kind of attitude that no teacher should demonstrate.

19. The staircases

We can see the reason behind this, but what we can’t accept is the actual rule. Having two separate staircases might have been a good idea 200 years ago, but not today.

20. The professor

Some people think that their role as a teacher empowers them to do whatever wanted, and this is one such example. We guess this professor had to be removed from his job for this.

21. The ankles

It seems that this dean thought everyone still lived in the 19th century, but we can all agree this was not something she had the right to empower.

22. The classes

Some school managements think that they would push the envelope by doing things like this, but what they achieve in reality is disrespect for demanding way too much.

23. The shorts

This person told the story of how athletic shorts were banned in a school where girls wore such clothing a lot. It seems all these girls had something to say about this rule, too.

24. The tolerance

Wow, this is something that shows that not only once school decided to resort to such measures. We understand that it is never a good idea, and this post explained what the result of the rule was.

25. The short hair

This is one of those rules that seems to be more fitting in the 1900s. It is the kind of thing that limits kids in a certain way for the sake of making them all look identical.

26. The coat

We believe that some school principals or deans only came up with such things because they wanted everyone to know who’s the boss was, but we are certain nobody respected them for that.

27. The phone

Well, no wonder that parents came to the school in an attempt to get rid of this dumb rule. You can see that they had a point, and this is why the rule was dropped soon after it was enforced.

28. The safety

We understand that such measures meant that the health of the students was guaranteed, but maybe the means to do this had to be different, we guess.

29. The pants

Here is yet another rule that must never be enforced. Such things are so outdated that we can’t even remember the last time we heard about a place that had similar requirements.

30. The water

Here is everything that is wrong with the people who came up with silly rules and commands for students to obey. We guess that needing permission to drink water is not a good thing at all.

31. The coats

We are not excited about this rule or the reasons behind it. Come to think of it, there is no rational reason for making students do this, but we guess they had no choice.

32. The shirts

Some people did not understand the quality humor of this TV series, and it shows. We guess that kids still had a good time watching The Simpsons. We still do.

33. The high school

Wow, this must have been really embarrassing for these boys, and we guess that enforcing such a thing should never be allowed.

34. The trouble

This is a bit too excessive of a reaction, to be honest, and we think that nobody could be bothered by someone humming in the bathroom.

35. The jacket

It seems that some schools push things too far, and this is a situation that we accept as a steal. Nobody should force such rules.

36. The groups

Now, this is one great way to start the list. Such a rule has been enforced in way too many schools, and it is pointless in our opinion.
