People usually love the idea of acting in an environmentally friendly environment. They try to do their best to save the planet by reducing their waste and especially through recycling. There is nothing like being one of the people who makes all the difference. Some stores and manufacturers of goods try to do the same. They think that clever packaging is the way to go, and they have a point, as long as they do it the right way. Even when packaging is not meant to save the planet, but to impress buyers, things can go wrong. The list below shows some of the worst packaging ideas out there.
1. The case

Here is how one small purchase can be surprising. This person ordered a set of earrings and this is what the packaging looked like. It is a waste of cardboard.
2. The waste

Talking about waste, here is something that really made us think about the ways to wrap an item some people find acceptable. This is surely not the way to go.
3. The toothbrush

These fully degradable bamboo toothbrushes came from a zero-waste store, but you can clearly see that the plastic wrapping does not belong here at all.
4. The receipt

Okay, we know this is not a case of packaging gone wrong, but it surely counts. As you can see, this receipt is the last thing that would help the environment and reduce waste.
5. The cans

We are not exactly sure why would someone try to add additional packaging to a can of soda, but we can all see someone thought it would be an awesome idea. Not cool at all.
6. The plastic

We genuinely believe that using as many plastic bags you see in this picture is not only bad for the environment, but it is also pointless. This is nothing but a waste.
7. The pill

We are used to buying all sorts of pills and we know that they are sometimes hard to get out of the wrapper. You can see why this is a fact in the image above. So many wrappers for a single pill is too much.
8. The package

We know that this must have been an awesome idea in the minds of the marketing specialists who designed it, but a card or something else would have been enough.
9. The masks

We are certain that there would have been at least a dozen more suitable ways to wrap a face mask compared to the solution you see here. This is absurd.
10. The fence post

We understand that some companies insist on being too careful about the safe dispatch of the goods clients buy from them, but fifteen boxes for these small fence posts seem to be too much.
11. The candy

Most people love jelly beans and they prefer them in all shapes, sizes, and flavors. Still, it will never cease to amaze us that some companies sell individually packaged ones.
12. The sponges

We love the fact that many companies out there try to produce recycled goods, and this is the way to go for everyone. Still, it is not a good idea to wrap such items in plastic.
13. The cans

We know that some business owners try to come up with awesome ideas that would attract those who care for the environment, but their ideas can easily backfire, which is shown in the images above.
14. The fruit

We try to figure out why some people think that it is a good idea to use individual packaging for single pieces of fruit. This orange has its own peel to protect it.
15. The wrap

Sometimes, people need to think twice before doing something. Those who thought that bubble-wrapping some bubble wrap was a good idea are part of this group of people.
16. The boxes

Someone tried to do the right thing and ordered 27 books at one time, hoping to get them all inside one or two boxes. Well, you can see that did not happen.
17. The store

Here is how something that seems to be plain and simple can be changed, and not for the better, too. It seems that this is a huge waste of plastic, not to mention that it looks odd.
18. The space

It seems that some people are very surprised to find that their order has been shipped after it was so excessively packaged that it looks like a joke. We are not sure why suppliers do such things.
19. The slice

Here is yet another example of how the planet gets polluted with plastic faster than we could handle. Imagine if all single bread slices were packaged individually. Yikes!
20. The chargers

We are not exactly sure why this product was designed and who needs it, but we need to assure you that we think it is something that only helps plastic waste to pile up fast.
21. The batteries

There is no question in the fact we all need batteries for a plethora of gadgets, and ordering them is a must. Still, this is not the best way to package a small set of a couple of batteries.
22. The cream

Using cream as part of your cosmetics array is a must, and most people use more than a single type of cream, too. As you can see, someone was surprised to see the product quantity, given the size of the packaging.
23. The pills

We know that some people are never surprised to see that the quantity of a product is not always the exact match of the packaging, and this is one fine example of that.
24. The bananas

We are not fans of things that complicate the simple processes we are used to, and peeling a banana is simpler when you do not need to peel a plastic wrapper first.
25. The advertisement

There is no doubt that some people are keen on great ideas and marketing tricks, but this type of advertisement is nothing but a waste of paper.
26. The shallots

This is how someone thought that shallots should be sold. Of course, it is not a good idea, and it was best to leave the shallots’ natural protective layer.
27. The cable

Those air-tight seals are an awesome idea and are better than all the other types of protective stuffing available, but using a giant box for a tiny cable is too excessive.
28. The avocados

It seems that avocados sliced in two with the seed removed is something people would appreciate purchasing, but this involves a lot of plastic wrapping, which is bad for the environment.
29. The kiwi

Here is how a single product can demonstrate everything that’s currently wrong with packaging goods. You can see the amount of trash that would be left behind after eating these three kiwi slices.
30. The bits

We know that these bits were probably meant to be purchased as single units, but there must have been a better way to package them. Using large plastic wrappers for every single one is not a great idea.
31. The mini cast-iron pans

Here is what one person received after ordering a couple of miniature cast-iron pans. They arrived in immaculate shape mainly because they were wrapped in a gigantic cardboard box.
32. The jar

There must be a reason for this type of packaging to exist and we are not exactly sure of it, but we know that the idea behind it was surely better than the execution.
33. The item

There is a lot that could be said about the way to wrap a small item, such as a nail file, but the most important thing is obvious: the packaging needs to be appropriate.
34. The fruit

Here is yet another case of individually packaged fruit that was supposed to serve shoppers, but it actually ends up as one of the bad ideas that do not do the environment any favors.
35. The wrappers

We’re not sure why would someone need individually wrapped potatoes, but this store thought that it was a good idea to offer them to shoppers. We think this excessive use of plastic is wrong.
36. The mascara

It seems that people out there will continue to use an unnecessary amount of packaging to send small goods such as mascara. This is not something that the environment would appreciate.
37. The quantity

It seems that there is an easy way to reduce waste. The thing that manufacturers need to do is to use the appropriate types and sizes of packaging according to the quantity of the product they sell.
38. The box

We understand that some people out there are baffled by the crazy packaging of products they ordered. This is one such case, and the tiny tube you see does not need the huge packaging they used for it.
39. The amount

There are many packages that we have seen that do not match the quantity of the product, and this eyeliner bottle is the perfect example. This huge glass jar is too much for that small quantity.
40. The small Tic Tac containers

We understand that this case was meant to house a plethora of different flavors, and we know that there must have been a way to avoid using so much plastic for meeting this goal.
41. The bananas

Here is another photographic proof that individually wrapped bananas are a thing, and we are certain that this is a very unnecessary product.
42. The hauling

Well, this is not product packaging in its classic meaning, but it still shows that some things are not meant to be shipped in a particular way, to say the least.
43. The bread

Much like the individually wrapped bananas, single bread slices packed in plastic seem to be the new trend that we would never support.
