Sometimes we all do something that will bother us or somebody around us. The smartphones are evolving every single day, so we need to be very careful of what we do in order not to insult somebody or to guarantee our privacy. This guy shared 10 very valuable life tips that will help you big time. Chris Hladczuk surfed through the Reddit’s LifeProTips and shared the 10 most valuable ones.

Thank you Chris for saving our time, You can find him on Twitter

1. Anger and Mistakes

Well, he is kind of right here. For example if you are a manager at a store and you get angry every single time an employee makes a mistakes most people will not try to correct themselves, they will just try to hide their mistakes.

The correct approach is to speak to that person and explain about the mistake. Try to correct them polite and nice, that way the employee will see that there is nothing to worry about and I am most likely sure that he/she will do their best not to make the same mistake twice.

2. The Arguments

When you are in an argument it is really important to win it. The best way of winning is actually to change the mind of your opponent. It is a very good idea to ask your opponent what will change his/her mind. If he/she can’t give you straight answer just stop wasting your time, because when he/she doesn’t really know what prove they will need, so arguing is basically pointless.

3. The “Free” Software

Open source means free of charge. There are a lot of scam companies that will give you just a demo for free and will try to charge you. The biggest scam that I have fallen is “We need you Credit Card details, don’t worry we will not charge you” – Yeah, right they didn’t charge me the first day. The next day they charged me 3 months membership and I had a quite hard time taking my money back. If somebody is thinking that I am stupid enough to input my card details I will just say here that the registration was not possible without valid credit card. Well, I am not falling for any of it anymore.

Open Source software is actually free of charge and everybody can install it and can modify it according to ones needs. There is an open source alternative to almost every well known software. Just google around and you will find what you need.

4. Keeping your Cool

A lot of people will try to overtalk you or insult you when you are in a meeting. The best decision on this situation would be to stop talking and politely ask them to repeat. Most people will insult you just for fun and when asked to repeat everybody will will keep quiet and listen to the guy. That way he/she will get ashamed and apologize or if not he/she will repeat it which will definitely make them sound rude. There is one more important thing, you will have some time to think about your answer (the gap between when they first told it and the repeation).

5. Reframing Your Day

I haven’t tried this one, but it definitely sounds reasonable. Reframing your day into 4 quarters sounds very wise, that way when something gets messed up you can start your next part without any problem and you will definitely not lose your whole day, just because of a bad morning.

6. Venting at Work

Rule number 1: You don’t have any friends at work. They are just people that will burn you when they have a chance. They will tweak your words and make you look vulnerable or just stupid. As to my experience the people above you don’t really care about you and the people below you want your place and salary as well. The people who are on your level will just try to look better in your boss eyes and will not even think for a minute before snitching. So the dude is right : “Be very careful who you vent at work

7. The Blank Book

The Family Book sounds like fun and it should be. Asking every single family member over 50 to write something wise down will really cheer everybody up, not only because when you do so every family member will feel valuable, but because they will definitely do their best and write something from their experience that might help you. I will definitely try that.

8. The Email Address Hack

Well, here is a nice hack if you do like to sign up for free trials. Adding +1 (or any digit) before the @ in your email address will work for signing up for a new trail. That way their system will register it as new and in the same time, you will receive your free trial and get the welcome email in your regular inbox as well.

9. “e.g.” and “i.e.” are not the same

This is really common mistake and everyone should take a note here. A lot of people are mistaking both, so please keep in mind the meaning of each one.

10. The Airplane mode hack

I am sure this situation has happened to every one of us. To me it has happened pretty often. A lot of times somebody calls me and just want to speak to me, but I am in the middle of something and don’t feel like talking. I have tried this hack and I can really confirm that it works. When he calls you back you can just say “Hey, I don’t know what happened, maybe the call failed” and that person will believe you.

You can also do that if you are on a business call and the other person asks you a question that you need some time to answer. That way you will get some time, until he calls back.

Thank you Chris Hladczuk for the valuable tips.
